The Power of Mandala
Draw your way into the wisdom of your own subconscious.
A guided practice — no art skills required — for using one of the oldest tools humans have for meeting themselves.
Created by Reut Shalev, M.A. · Art Therapist
You already know the feeling.
You keep turning the same thought over, and it keeps coming back the same shape. You can name what's happening — you just can't seem to move through it. Talking circles it. Thinking circles it. Even rest circles it.
That stuckness isn't a flaw to fix. It's usually a sign that something inside you is asking to be seen rather than solved — and that the part of you holding it doesn't speak in words.
- A decision you keep circling, with no new answer.
- Overwhelm that has nowhere to land.
- A numbness where feeling used to be.
- Grief you can't quite put into words.
- A transition — and the ground still moving.
- A pull to understand yourself, with no map for how.
The mandala is a way to meet that part of yourself — with your hands, before your head gets in the way.
What a mandala actually is
The circle Carl Jung drew every morning.
After his break with Freud, Jung went through years of disorientation. Each morning he sketched a circular design in his notebook — and noticed it shifted with his inner state. He borrowed the Sanskrit word for circle: mandala.
Over time he came to see these drawings as portraits of the self — the psyche quietly working toward wholeness. "I knew that in finding the mandala as an expression of the self, I had attained what was for me the ultimate," he wrote.
That's the whole idea, and it's older than Jung by millennia: a mandala isn't art you make for anyone else. It's a mirror you draw — and then read. No talent required, only attention.

Reut Shalev
M.A., Art Therapist
Reut holds a master's degree in Art Therapy — the single discipline built around exactly this: letting people say, in image and gesture, what they can't yet say in words.
She has spent years in the room with people at the hardest edges of their lives — watching a simple circle, drawn slowly, do what conversation couldn't. The Mandala Method is that work, distilled into something you can do at your own kitchen table.
Her whole approach is honest about what this is and isn't: not a cure, not a performance — a quiet, repeatable way to meet yourself.
What's inside
Five steps, from your first circle to a lifelong practice.
Not a stack of lessons to get through — a path from understanding the tool to reading what you've made, and returning to it for years.

Understand the tool
What a mandala actually is, why it has mirrored the human psyche for centuries, and why no drawing skill is required to use it.
-
Set up your first one
The handful of things you need (most of it is already in your kitchen), how to prepare your space, and how to begin from the center out.
-
Drop into flow
Grounding practices that quiet the analytical mind so your hand can move ahead of your thinking — where the practice's real work happens.
-
Read what you made

When you want a second pair of eyes
Some mandalas hold something you can feel but can't name.
Bring yours to Reut. In a 1:1 reading she sits with what you made — the symbols, the colors, what you left out — and helps you hear what it's saying. No edition required; it's the most natural next step after your first mandala.
Honest answers
Questions people ask first.
I can't draw. I'm not artistic. Is this for me?
This is the whole point: a mandala is not art you perform for anyone. You work from the center outward with simple shapes — circles, lines, dots, repetition. There is no "good" or "bad" mandala. People who insist they can't draw often have the most to discover here, precisely because they're not trying to make it look like anything.
Is this religious?
No. Mandalas appear across many traditions, but the practice taught here is reflective and psychological, not devotional. You don't need to believe anything or belong to anything. It's a way of meeting your own mind with your hands.
How is this different from a coloring book?
A coloring book hands you someone else's pattern to fill in. Here you create from the center out — every shape, color, and choice is your own material rising up in the moment. That difference is everything: a coloring book occupies the mind, a mandala reveals it.
What do I actually need to buy?
Very little, and most of it you already own. Paper, something to draw with, and a round object to trace — a plate from your kitchen works perfectly. The course includes a material list with optional upgrades and where to find them, but you can start today with what's on your table.
Is it digital or physical?
Digital, delivered instantly. The moment you buy, you get the materials to download and keep — no shipping, no waiting. The 1:1 reading (Complete edition) is booked online after purchase.
